crate-api
Public, paid API for the hosaka music catalogue. Faceted search across ~2.5M masters, single-master enrichment with cube quadrant + DJ count + critic count + cross-source links, batch enrichment for sync-agency clearance work.
What's here

- Authentication — API keys, how to get one, how to use it
- API reference — full endpoint reference (auto-generated from OpenAPI 3.1)
- Error codes — every status code with what to do
- Rate limits — per-tier quotas + burst limits + concurrency caps
- Versioning —
/api/v1/*stability promise + sunset policy - v1 → v2 migration — route-by-route map + the 308/410 cutover + timeline
- Use cases — worked examples for the common workflows
- Data posture — what signals we surface vs hold back, and why
What this API is for
- Sync agencies: clearance research, batch enrichment for ~100 masters at a time, mood-aware search
- Developers + small teams: building music tools, AI recommendation engines, catalogue enrichment for your own surfaces
- Crate Pro (Q4 2026): consumer-tier subscription gated on the insert Phase 1 feature
This is not Discogs's API + it's not a streaming API. We don't sell raw bulk dumps; we sell access to the live, curated, enrichment-layered hosaka catalogue.
Status
v1.0 stable. Built right means versioned, OpenAPI-committed, rate-limited honestly, sunset-honored. Read the versioning page for the contract.
